Please refer to the Hawaii Board of Professional Engineers, Architects, Surveyors & Landscape Architects website for official information on how to become a licensed PE in Hawaii. The information provided below is to help guide you in the right direction.
Examinees must first apply to the Hawaii board for approval to sit for the exam in Hawaii. Visit the board’s website for instructions on the approval process.
Note to repeat examinees: The board requires that repeat examinees provide evidence of continuing efforts to complete the licensure process within the previous two years to be eligible to take an exam in Hawaii.
After the board has notified you of your approval, register online with NCEES to reserve your seat for the exam through the testing site, Pearson VUE. Your exam type, discipline, module, may be changed after registering. You may reschedule your test day appointment through NCEES at least 24 hours in advance, and may cancel your appointment more than 48 hours in advance. Rescheduling and cancellation fees will apply.
