In light of in-person events being suspended for the time being, we decided to mobilize our membership virtually in support of a good cause. The Hawaii Food Bank reports 1 in 6 people, including more than 90,000 of our keiki, in requiring food assistance. The profound economic impacts of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic have only worked to compound these figures. It is now that our communities need our support more than ever.
In support of the Hawaii Food Bank, ASCE YMF is hosting a Virtual Food Drive from 9/1 - 10/10 (extended to 10/31!). We have pledged a goal of $2000, which HFB estimates will provide 5000 meals for those in need.
You can help us exceed that goal by checking out our fundraiser page!
Participants in the Virtual Food Drive are given the choice to fill a "virtual shopping cart" with various items which they'd like to donate. Donors are also allowed to designate which of Hawaiʻi's populations they'd like the contribution to specifically serve (our keiki, elders, emergency relief, etc.).
The Virtual Food Drive will also be coupled with the "Support Local" Gift Card Raffles. As a thank you to ASCE Hawaii Section members who participate in the drive, 5 - $25 gift cards to local eateries will be given away at random. The rules are as follows:
To enter, email receipt of donation to our community service chairs firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com. Entries must be received by 6pm on the day of the raffle in order to be eligible for that week's drawing.
Raffle dates and prizes are as follows:
Follow us on Instagram (@ascehawaiiymf) to stay up to date with the drive as we provide weekly progress updates to our $2000 donation goal and announce raffle winners. We hope you will join us in supporting this cause and that we may also be able to get back out into the community soon!
